May I live like the Lotus, at ease in muddy waters

Kathryn Gustin

Kathryn Gustin

Kathryn is a Helena native and is excited to be part of a small business in her hometown and part of this sweet Lotus community. Most of her work is behind the scenes- updating the website, maintaining the calendar, and putting together marketing materials. She will most likely help you with a membership question or concern while providing technical support to the staff.

Kathryn is currently in the last semester to complete her ASRN. She grew up dancing and her first Nia class in 2007 was a breath of fresh air in the fitness world. Shortly after she became a certified Nia instructor and after discovering OULA, also became a certified OULA instructor. After giving birth to twins in February 2017, she is excited to get back to teaching her weekly classes at The Lotus.

She spent five years managing a thriving studio in Washington DC, is an E-RYT, ran her own yoga and wellness non-profit and is highly trained in using yoga for mental health. She continues to provide offerings at The Lotus in conjunction with this role and is so excited to see this Lotus blossom and will continue to focus her efforts on supporting The Lotus’s mission.

Jamie Anesi

When Jamie isn’t working as an outpatient grief, loss and trauma therapist or teaching OULA, Oula. One or Movement Therapy classes at the studio, she is supporting The Lotus teachers, mental health and massage teams as well as recruiting and planning exciting workshops for our schedule. Jamie also enjoys marketing our high quality on-going classes and events.

Jamie received her MA in Transpersonal Counseling with a Concentration in Grief, Loss and Trauma and has worked as an LCPC for the last 12 years. Jamie rediscovered her love of dance while in Santa Fe and has been teaching dance and movement therapy for over 12 years. She is so honored to be part of this amazing team and incredible Lotus community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is The Lotus Located?

We are conveniently located downtown on the walking mall (next to the Parrot). We have two entrances, one on the walking mall at 40 North Last Chance Gulch for classes in our upstairs studio and one at the back of the building at 40 Hibbard Way for classes in the downstairs studio.

Why Choose The Lotus Over a Gym?

The Lotus is more than just a place to “get fit.” While we advocate for and support healthy physical bodies, we also believe in healthy emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. We offer a space for health and wellness on all levels in a non-competitive environment where all are welcome and supported by our amazing community of instructors and students.

What Should I Wear to a Class?

The most important thing is to wear something you’re comfortable to move in! It varies by class, but dressing in layers is a great way to make sure you have enough or can shed a layer if you get warm. If you want to wear shoes for one of the dance classes (which we encourage if you want to!), please make sure they’re indoor shoes so we can protect our floors and maintain their longevity!

Is There a Place to Change?

Yes! We have dressing rooms in both our upstairs and downstairs studios.

How do I Contact a Therapist?

Visit our Therapists page. There you will find the best contact information for all of our therapists!
