JANUARY

Give yourself the gift of movement in between holidays this year. For the four weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we’ll meet weekly to practice yoga (using a chair as a prop- no getting up and down off the floor!) to make sure you make time for yourself during this hectic season. This class is a great opportunity for all practitioners, including those who are newer to a yoga practice or who have been interested in starting one.

Childbirth Preparation Classes

Informed Beginnings is the result of the collective dream of a group of experienced natural childbirth educators. It is a not-for-profit co-operative that allows members to pool resources and share great ideas, resulting in the most comprehensive, up-to-date childbirth classes available to parents-to-be. Rather than basing the classes on one person’s work or one specific method, implying that there’s a “right way” (and therefore also a “wrong way”) to give birth, InfoBe draws on the wisdom of many experts in the natural childbirth movement, and is a dynamic organization that combines the wisdom of many childbirth educators and doulas. We teach mothers how to really relax and work with their bodies, and we teach partners how to effectively provide emotional and physical support and to advocate when needed. We provide a broad range of proven, effective techniques for coping with labor naturally and healthfully, recognizing that every birth is unique and each mother will use what works for her.

Refresh and Rejuvenate- A morning with Oula.One

Treat yourself to a morning of rejuvenation and relaxation with Oula.One creator, Kali Lindner. During this workshop, we will start by discussing Kali’s history with yoga and dance and why she created this format. We will talk about the journey through the elements and chakras that this format explores and also the importance of mind-body practices for optimal, full-being health. One hour-long class will follow the discussion.

Trauma Informed Yoga Training

This weekend training is Street Yoga’s core curriculum. It offers an inspiring and heart-felt introduction to the field of yoga service for youth experiencing life challenges. The densely-packed 16-hour training focuses on a wide-variety of practical, hands-on skills needed to serve youth with yoga and meditation in the real world. Areas for exploration and practice include communicating effectively, maintaining safety in the classroom, promoting healthy boundaries, choosing postures and exercises, handling challenging behaviors and situations, and collaborating with agencies.

YTT 2018 Preview: Hips & Release
