DANCE & MOVEMENT
We offer a variety of dance and movement classes for participants to maintain health, wholeness and physical fitness. Our classes are non-competitive and offered in a community based environment where instructors and students support classes equally.
How might your day, your week or your life shift if you could begin to see yourself as capable, as strong, as gentle, as beautiful, as enough? What would happen if you took the time to feel the connection between loving thoughts and the body’s reaction to positive self-talk and acceptance? In Movement Therapy we explore questions like these as well as the inner world through movement, intention, guided meditation and imagination, play, breath and dance. During this class, we will gently explore opening our hearts, minds and bodies through different movement forms and inner wisdom.

Come join us for a time dedicated for mamas to explore mindful movement, resting, building up strength, and meditation. Babies welcome! Separate space available for those who would like to nurse in private or need a quiet place for rest.

Oula.One is a heart-based, musically-inspired yoga dance fusion class. This 55-minute session is done barefoot on the mat, with no jumping or impact, making it accessible to nearly all. Completely choreographed to beautiful music, you will journey through spinal warming and activation, balancing and strengthening, core work, stretching and relaxation. Through breath and heart opening movements and music, you will feel the stress and stuck emotion leave your body, as you become grounded in your sense of self and one-ness.
OULA-Power is a 45 minute conditioning class that begins with an empowering warm up, followed some high energy cardio tracks to get the heart pumping, and then transitions into a series of conditioning tracks that focus on strengthening and toning using just our own body weight. This class features moves from HIIT formats, pilates, yoga and dance conditioning classes, and is equally challenging and rewarding. The music is carefully selected to inspire you to be bigger, better, faster, stronger!
OULA power express
PowerExpress is a 30 minute all mat conditioning class. Warm up, strengthen your lower body, upper body, core, and then cool down. Zero cardio, all conditioning. Get in, get it done, and get out.
Tai Chi Chuan
Tai Chi for balance, strength, and mindfulness. We will be exploring the Thirteen Kinetic Movements of Tai Chi Chuan as well as simple Chigong exercises. Everybody is welcome!
All Levels Pilates Mat Class
All Levels welcome! We will learn and build on the Pilates principles as we focus on breathwork, develop abdominal strength and core support, inprove flexibility and balance and work every muscle group, all while having fun. Laughter really does work your core so why not use it as a fitness tool!
Small props may be used, balls, bands and weights. Modifications can be made to meet you at your fitness level allowing you to reach your goals. Join us as we give ourselves this noon hour to center and refresh.
Foundation & Fundamentals of Pilates
Foundations and Fundamentals of Pilates is for anyone new to Pilates or looking for foundational work in body awareness and stability for their movement practice. Students can expect to work from the inside out, focus on the spine, practice effective breathing, and find the sweet spot between control and flow. We’ll also take time to consider and play with body-mind communication. This class offers content that can enhance other movement classes and daily life.
Join us to experience a yoga practice to help cultivate compassion through self-acceptance, as you meet yourself in your limitations and strength, and develop peace within yourself.
All Levels Flow Yoga
This class brings the physical practice of yoga into a moving meditation – linking poses with the flow of the breath, music, mantra and yoga philosophy. By combining effort and ease, this class moves at a steady pace to build a physical, personal connection as well as inner awareness. All bodies and experiences welcome.
Embodied Yoga Flow
Embodied Yoga Flow is an integrative practice that creates a sacred space to witness our natural rhythms by quieting the thinking mind through challenging, mindful and creative yoga tools. This combination of physical challenge, breath work, intention setting and tracking of the inner landscape leads us to inhabit our most whole selves fully in the moment. Class starts with gentle supine movements, builds awareness of your inner landscape, introduces sneaky strength building through variety of movement and then challenges a shift in perspective as we flow through a yoga sequence around our mats. While there is plenty of cues to witness, there’s also lots of playfulness all set to a vibrant playlist and closed with a gentle body scan.
Embodied Yoga Practice
I like to share some of that wisdom by offering an hour long movement meditation that is sometimes called “yoga”. In my class, we don’t compete, we don’t force things. We breathe, feel, strengthen and soothe. We are sincere and gentle and playful. I sometimes swear. Come check it out.
In this style, we practice the physical postures of yoga in a moving meditation – linking poses with the flow of the breath, music, mantra and yoga philosophy. A practice of effort and ease we move at a steady pace building heat, endurance, flexibility and strength and ultimately, inner stillness.
This is a great class to regain balance, flexibility and strength. This class blends gentle yoga postures, breath work and guided meditation for a whole body approach to movement and your yoga practice.
This class is focused on mindfulness and alignment as a means to build strength, balance and flexibility. In a Hatha class, poses are often held for a longer period of time and attention is paid to breath, detail, and subtlety. This class is a strong yet grounded practice, a rooted pace provides opportunities for introspection, breath and deepening movements while giving opportunities to practice where you are as well as discover new teachings. This class is for someone looking for an active yoga practice at a bit slower pace.
A gentle yoga practice for women in any stage of pregnancy with care and attention to individual needs. Each class incorporates poses to build strength, flexibility, breath awareness and confidence that will benefit moms during pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
A yoga flow practice is the framework to refine movement through the exploration of functional movement, actual ranges of motion, compensatory behaviors, movement patterns, and movement blindspots. Barbara uses current and relevant movement research to challenge the traditional yoga script creating a unique and sustainable practice. The class includes somatics, vinyasa, supported poses, mobility and myofascial work, and meditation. Expect to find a challenging class for both body and mind.
This class begins with a variety of tools to access the present moment through breath, gentle movement or something in between. This is followed by a systematic method (yoga nidra) of inducing complete mental, emotional and physical relaxation. This guided meditation focuses on body & breath awareness to witness the present moment and create space between thoughts. This powerful practice is done lying comfortably on blankets and bolsters and is for everyone. Come as you are, no special clothing or abilities required.
